Your privacy is fundamentally important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how GetCalcu ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our website at getcalcu.com (the "Site"). We have written this policy to be clear and human-readable — not buried in legalese.

The short version: Our calculators run entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit any data you enter into our tools. If you don't create an account, we hold virtually no personal information about you.

1. Zero Personal Data Collection from Tools

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal or sensitive information you enter into our calculators, converters, or other tools. All calculations are performed locally within your browser using JavaScript. The data you input never reaches our servers. Once you close or refresh the page, that data is gone entirely.

2. Analytics & Cookies

To understand how our Site is used and to improve our services, we use privacy-focused analytics tools (such as Google Analytics 4). These services help us understand general usage patterns — which tools are most popular, what countries visitors come from, and what device types are used.

  • All analytics data is anonymized and aggregated. We do not collect IP addresses or any other personally identifiable information (PII) through analytics.
  • We use cookies to facilitate analytics. You can opt out via our cookie consent banner or your browser settings.

3. Account Information

Creating an account is entirely optional. If you choose to register to save your calculation history, we collect and store the following, managed securely by Supabase:

  • Display Name: The name you provide for your profile.
  • Email Address: Used for authentication and password resets only.
  • Password: Stored in a securely hashed format using industry-standard bcrypt. We can never see your actual password.
  • Calculation History: Inputs and results associated with your user ID. This data is never analyzed, shared, or sold.

4. Third-Party Services & Advertising

To support the costs of running GetCalcu as a free service, we may display advertisements from third-party networks such as Google AdSense. These networks may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites.

  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
  • We do not share any personal account data with advertising partners.
  • We may use performance monitoring tools (e.g., Microsoft Clarity) that use anonymized session data to help us improve UX. No PII is collected.

5. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. Since we collect minimal data, most of these apply only to registered account holders:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to Data Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to Opt-Out (CCPA): California residents have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect any data we do hold. Account data is stored on Supabase's secure, encrypted infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. Your continued use of the Site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
